Here is my first ever newsletter. I’ll treat this mostly like investor updates. I have no investors and focus fully on the product. But I am looking for a) accountability, b) zooming out and c) advice.
0. What is coco?
coco is a joyful productivity app. It deeply integrates your to-dos with your calendars to achieve goals. It combines the playfulness of Zenly with the speed of Superhuman.
1. Tweet (238 characters)
coco is doing good. 2 weeks after opening the waitlist, nearly 1k people signed up. Quite some investors approached me. I am happy to connect, but fully focused on building an amazing product. Goal: Finding 100 users that really ❤️coco.
🏡Here is where I grew up and build the coco website.
2. Metrics
Waitlist: 977 (13% Growth since Monday alone)
Runway: ≈18 months
3. Progress
In the first half of January, I was caught up with investors, but decided to self-fund for the time being.
Now full focus on building out coco. There is still some bugs to fix, a lot of UX to improve but it’s getting ready to onboard users. If you want to be bumped up the waitlist, ping me. :)
Have been working on this fully myself so far. This is also the plan for some more time. The mid-term team setup is supposed to be: 1 Backend, 1 Android, 1 iOS and 1 Web engineer.
Apple also took notice of coco and reached out. 🥥
4. Product
The product is already working well with typical problems early on. The focus now is to get to include all important calendar/to-do features with the single best UX. The second focus is to make coco super joyful. Especially Zenly serves as my inspiration.
5. Immediate Goals
1. Nail the entire product experience: iOS app, web app and Mac app to quickly capture thoughts
2. Grow the waitlist at least 20% week over week. Want to end February with 2,200 people. I’ll compare forecast to actuals next time.
6. How you can help
- Get 1-2 friends onto the waitlist (coco.so)
- Intros to VCs/Angels that appreciate UX are welcome! I want to build relations early on as opposed to when I am raising.
Cheerio,
Denninho 💌
